Science Week
Science week is held annually in MCC with a variety of events for all year groups. Our first years engage in a measurement marathon competition around the school, putting their new science skills into practice. 2nd years take on our science photo scavenger hunt and 3rd years play science bingo.
There are a variety of speakers for our senior cycle students along with poster and photograph competitions.
Mr Bones our resident skeleton is also on duty during break and lunch!
Over the last 2 years our 6th years have competed against each other in our ISTA science quiz, with our winners going forward to the MU ISTA science quiz. In 2025 our 6th years came 3rd in MU and represented the school in the National ISTA quiz in Dublin.
MU visits
All our 6th year biology, chemistry and physics students are given the opportunity to partake in revision courses ran by Maynooth University in January of 6th year, where experiments from the leaving cert course are repeated in detail. All students who attend have recommended the revision courses and we thank MU for their continued support for our 6th year students.
